Discover Portsouth/Portsmouth Historical Society

The Portsmouth Historical Society is pleased to make Discover Portsmouth and the John Paul Jones House Museum and Gardens available for private functions. The “Gateway to Historic Portsmouth”, Discover Portsmouth is a vibrant cultural and community center. Our restored circa 1811 Academy Gallery building and Special Events Room provide historic backdrops for corporate functions and fundraisers, as well as intimate weddings and rehearsal dinners. A two-story gallery, this unique and inspiring space features exhibits to spotlight local historic and contemporary artisans and crafters. The lower Gallery hall and Gallery Balcony can be rented together or separately.

Available May through October, the John Paul Jones House, a National Historic Landmark, can accommodate small ceremonies for up to 25 guests, and parties or receptions for up to 100 guests in the gardens. A tent can be set up on the front lawn.

We can provide a reception package, or you may choose your own caterer.
