In 2008, Amelia received the third place prize in the Grand National Wedding Cake Competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She returned again in 2009 and received fourth runner up, making her one of a select few that have placed in the top five for two years running. She has also been selected as one of 23 instructors nationwide to teach at the annual ICES (International Cake Exploration Society) convention in San Diego, California.
